Ronny Hammond

DJ Ronny Hammond has had a gift for spotting hot grooves striking a chord with audiences since he himself as a kid drew inspiration from legendary 70s & 80s radio shows such as the Souls Show. And in the mid-80s, Ron developed an everlasting passion for black music in all its styles. In the next decade, Ronny played all sorts of breakbeat at memorable raves, jams and weddings. In addition to performing at clubs & festivals in the Netherlands and abroad, he presented the jazzy "Cool Sessions" on ID&T Radio and compiled playlists for numerous top-end stores, restaurants & bars.

Nowadays, Ronny is an funkster with eclectic tastes, performing performs DJ gigs all over the Netherlands. He is also the resident DJ at Supernatural Events and recently lined up among artists such as The Budos Band and Poets of Rhythm In addition, he regularly teams up with DJ Rafadelic to form Funkafied – a meandering trip across the land of soul, funk, jazz, disco and global grooves dipped in breakbeats and edits. His list of activities would not be complete without mentioning that he is a frequent guest on The Friday Freak Night , aired by radio channel 3FM, as well as a monthly guest on GielJazz on Dutch Radio 6 – both hosted by Giel Beelen. 2010, too, promises to be a hectic year of Ronny Hammond as he goes about drumming the beat for what he calls the Nu-Disco sound, also known as "The Stuff That I Really Like".
